My cooking journey began at 7:00 in the morning. I was watching TV and I stumbled across a show called Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch. It was hosted by Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Matilda. She cooked food that was fun and engaging, I couldn’t resist not trying a recipe! A few days later, I saved a burger and fries recipe that she aired on TV, and I fell in love with food ever since! Although, while exploring I ran into a few problems, #1 allergies, everything that I cook reflects the way that I have to navigate around my allergies, and I want to show you that you can too! #2: At the beginning of my food adventure, I was a picky eater. I was that one kid who order pasta or chicken tenders and fries at a restaurant. As I experimented more with some foods, the more I opened my pallet to foods like eggs and brussels sprouts.
Fast forward to middle school, I enrolled in a cooking class with some of my friends. The first thing that we made were pancakes, my specialty! Luckily, I was the head chef that day too! I mixed the pancake batter to a perfect consistency and started pouring it onto the griddle. Gracefully moving, I flipped to reveal a perfect golden brown. I looked around to the other teams only to see batter scattered across the griddle, burnt pancakes, and sticky syrup on the tables. The teacher walked past our group to check on us, we held our breath as she looked around our counter. She nodded and said, “Save me one please!”.
Currently, I follow my favorite chefs Nick DiGiovanni and The Golden Balance around copying and re-watching their videos daily. I can relate to the way that they both cook, they make food fun and absolutely delicious! My dream would be to meet both of the chefs and for them to recognize my blog!
