-½ head of fresh or frozen broccoli

- 4 tbs. of low sodium soy sauce

-½ tsp. of salt

-1 tsp. of black pepper

-1 tsp. of red pepper flakes

-1 tbs. of olive oil

-Brown rice (to serve)

Believe it or not, I have never tried Chinese food. Although there should be no excuse for not trying one of the most well known cuisines in the world, I would mostly blame it on my allergies. Yet, with my recipe that can be enjoyed by anyone with a sesame, nut, and gluten allergy, this can come pretty close to real Chinese!

Steps:

Step #1: Cut the sirloin steak into bite sized strips and set aside. In a large pan add the olive oil and begin to cook the steak. Keep in mind that due to its size, these will take no more than 30 seconds per side. Season with salt and pepper and when done cooking, add to a separate tin- foil covered bowl to keep the steak warm.

Step #2: In the same pan, add the broccoli and season with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Cover and let cook for about five minutes. Remove the cover and add the cooked steak back and mix. Add the soy sauce then remove off the heat.

Step #3: Let cool then serve over a plate of brown rice. Enjoy 💙
